Masha, the elder of the two, was a brilliant inventor and explorer. She spent her days creating gadgets that helped her and Veronika navigate the sometimes harsh Siberian wilderness. Veronika, on the other hand, was a talented cartographer and naturalist. She had an incredible ability to read the signs of nature, from the patterns of the snow to the songs of the birds.
