By 2012, as massive earthquakes begin, Jackson Curtis stumbles upon Charlie Frost’s warnings at Yellowstone. While the world's elite head to secret "arks" built in the Himalayas (funded by "boarding passes" sold for €1 billion), Jackson secures a small plane to fly his family from a collapsing Los Angeles toward the survival ships in China.
