Walker grew up to lead a normal and productive life, eventually moving to the suburbs of Chicago and starting a family. Despite the trauma of his association with Gacy, Walker has spoken publicly about the experience, serving as a cautionary tale about the dangers of underestimating the complexity of human behavior.

After strangling Walker, Gacy stored his body in the crawl space. However, by the spring of 1977, Gacy began to run out of room under his house.
