OpenR Link is built on Android Automotive OS with Google built-in (Maps, Assistant, Play Store), making it significantly faster and more intuitive than the original R-Link.

While R-Link Explorer is vital for older models, Renault is moving toward the system, which is based on Google’s Android Automotive OS. These newer systems (found in the Megane E-Tech and Austral) receive over-the-air (OTA) updates, reducing the need for manual SD card management.
