The killers, Annabelle Higgins and her boyfriend, break into the Forms' home. After a violent struggle, Annabelle Higgins dies clutching the doll, and drops of her blood seep into its porcelain face. From that moment, the doll becomes a conduit for a malevolent demonic entity that is not the spirit of Annabelle Higgins but something far older and darker.
